A 4x32mm illuminated scope, three 20-inch bolts, a rope cocking device and side-mount quiver come with the field-ready package. The bow’s Whisper Silencer System employs string stops, limb dampeners and string silencers to greatly reduce noise and vibration, while the AR-style buttstock is adjustable for length and cheek position, making it comfortable for all shooters. It features a CNC-machined aluminum rail and cam system, folding stirrup and anti-dry fire and auto-safety trigger mechanism. At only 12 inches wide from axle to axle when cocked, this 95-pound draw-weight bow is compact and easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces. Silent Assassin – CenterPoint Pulse 425 CenterPoint Pulse 425Ī deadly quiet shot and blazing bolt speeds up to 425 fps are hallmarks of CenterPoint’s sleek, new Pulse 425. Crossbow hunting enthusiasts looking for a high-tech scope to go with this high-tech bow have the option of adding Garmin’s new Xero X1i laser rangefinding scope that offers 3.5X magnification and has the ability to range targets and almost instantly provide dead-on aiming points at ranges up to 80 yards. Six EVO-X CenterPunch 16-inch carbon bolts, a six-bolt quiver and integrated string stop system come with the package. The Havoc, which weighs just more than 7.5 pounds, comes with an EVO-X Marksman Elite 2-8X magnification scope, capable of precision accuracy out to 100 yards on the range, and the ACUslide cocking and decocking system that locks the handle in place for safety if you remove your hand at any point in the cocking process. Its reverse-draw bow assembly creates a 13 ½-inch power stroke, while the RX7-Cam system rotates 360 degrees, producing speeds of 440 fps with 400-grain bolts. The bow’s shorter length - it is TenPoint’s shortest crossbow ever - is made possible through the 16-inch MICRO-Trac barrel and two-piece TEC-TACTICAL stock. ![]() The CenterPoint Wrath 430 is an extremely accurate, comfortable, and fast shooting crossbow.JanuBy Mark Demko Wreaking Havoc – TenPoint Havoc RS440 TenPoint Havoc RS440Ĭompact, comfortable and hard hitting, the Havoc RS440 measures 26 ½ inches long and 7½ inches wide when cocked, yet has the ability to launch bolts lightning fast. Overall, we’re very happy with the results. We don’t recommend using a lighter arrow though, a heavier arrow has higher kinetic energy which results in deeper penetration of the arrow. To achieve 430 feet per second, you’ll need a lighter arrow. Our chronograph clocked speeds of 410-413 feet per second. In our tests, the speed ratings were quite a bit lower, but very consistent, with the factory included 400-grain arrows. CenterPoint advertises this crossbow as up to 430 feet per second shooter. ![]() Now to the somewhat disappointing part… The speed test. Needless to say, the folding stirrup might not be an option in some hunting situations.Īfter sighting in the scope and getting comfortable with the CenterPoint Wrath 430, we managed to get very tight groups even at 50-yard distances. By using the folding stirrup, you’ll completely eliminate this problem. After a couple of dozen shots at the range and adjusting the foregrip slightly, we already got used to it and barely noticed it anymore. Field Test & PerformanceĪs we mentioned in the First impressions section, we noticed that the Wrath 430 is a bit front-heavy. This cranking device features an ambidextrous design and reduces the draw weight by up to 90%! This cranking device also offers the ability to let go mid cranking without the worry of damaging/breaking your hands, something that the CenterPoint CP400 lacks. The rope cocking sled halves the amount of strength required to cock this crossbow.ĬenterPoint also offers the Wrath 430 crossbow with their new, detachable, and silent crank cocking device. A standard rope cocking sled is included with the basic package. ![]() ![]() The CenterPoint Wrath 430 has a draw weight of 200 lbs, which means you need quite some strength to fully cock the crossbow. This scope should be more than enough for beginner hunters and considering the price of the Wrath 430, we expected nothing more than a scope with these stats. This scope has a green or red illumination setting. With a speed rating of 430 feet per second, we preferred to see a scope for up to 100-yard distances. CenterPoint includes a basic 4×32mm illuminated scope with aiming points up to 50 yards. ![]()
